What you get from one video
SRT subtitles from the audio
Auto subtitles are built from your video's speech with word-level timestamps. You get a standard .srt file to download, copy and use in your video editor.
Adjustable line breaks
Set the maximum characters per line and lines per subtitle block (42 and 2 by default). The subtitles rebuild instantly, with no new transcription and no extra credit.
Three AI caption suggestions
From the transcript you get three short post texts with an emoji and 2–4 hashtags, in your brand's tone if you set one. Edit them, copy them or, in the composer, insert one into your post.
7 languages, auto-detect
English, Hungarian, Romanian, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Pick the video's language (more accurate) or let auto-detect find it; captions are written in the video's language.
In-browser video editor
In the composer you can crop (9:16, 4:5, 1:1, 16:9), trim, pick a cover frame and compress to a platform's size limit. Stories get a separate version.
AI credits on every plan
Processing one video uses 1 AI credit, covering the SRT and all three captions. Free includes 1 credit a month, Starter 30 and Advanced 150.
How it works

Upload your video
Add it to a post in the composer, or use the standalone Media & subtitles page. Pick the video's language or leave it on auto. On Media & subtitles, the file is deleted after processing.

Transcription and subtitles
Lacamio transcribes the speech and builds timed SRT subtitles from it. For longer videos, this can take about a minute.

Captions and download
Pick one of the three caption suggestions or ask for new ones. Download the .srt file and drop it into your video editor, such as CapCut, Premiere or DaVinci.
Frequently asked questions
Does Lacamio burn subtitles into the video?
No. Lacamio creates an .srt subtitle file that you can download or copy and use in your video editor or anywhere that accepts .srt files. Subtitles are not added to the published post automatically.
How long does processing take?
It depends on the video's length: short clips are quicker, and longer videos can take about a minute. Once it's done, you can change the line breaks instantly without processing again.
Which browsers support the video editor?
The editor runs in your browser using WebCodecs, for example in Chrome or Edge. If your browser doesn't support it, upload a video that already has the right size. Subtitles don't need WebCodecs.
Does regenerating captions use a credit?
No. A credit is used when a video's transcription succeeds and speech is recognized in it; if no speech is found, no credit is used. New caption suggestions and different line breaks from the same transcript don't use a credit; re-running the transcription in another language uses a new credit. Credits reset monthly.
